FFXIII

Well today was the first day of spring quarter, and it was awesome. The Union is sick. Political Science is gonna be easy, and my Life in the Universe class is gonna be so sweet. I want to know about the possibilities of life in our vast, vast universe. That is my greatest what-if, and as the years go by the question of other life is becoming less and less an if we will discover, to a when will discover. So exciting.

My break was nice, I basically stopped lifting all break and didn't budge in the weight department, and judging from this morning's workout, I really didn't lose much. It was a nice vacation, now back to activity. I think its time I did more cardio, I hope my bike is ready.

This past weekend was almost a relationship ender for me, but I think we pulled through. I'm not sure if you read this Tia, but its on my page, so I figure you do. It was rough, and in the end I'm not sure how I feel about anything, this is one that time will figure out.

KB it was really effing rad getting to hang with you.

Tim Leo, I love your blog, its always something good to read, and pretty soon I'm going to list which blogs I follow on my page to kinda start spreading the word. That includes KBmania.

Alright thats it for now, I have to go kick it old school with Cory, peaceoutz.

I

Had a nice night tonight. School tomorrow.

Sierra 117 (Health Care)

This is my 117th post, and its fitting that my Master Chief post is about the real life Master Chief, Barack Obama. Its also fitting that I blog about this legendary moment in American History, because I started this blog about politics. I'm so relieved to finally have progressive action being carried out in Washington. But it also saddens me that health care has taken this long; Its something the rest of the civilized world has had for years now. Nothing makes me more angry then when the stubborn ass GOP bitch about the high price and that the health care bill being unconstitutional. What about the unconstitutional, extremely high priced, unnecessary, IRAQ WAR. Oh thats fine because the charge was lead by a conservative, cough cough, I mean idiot. Even if this bill spends a billion a year, thats less than four dollars a person a year. Suck it up and realize that as humans we are all in this shit together. This is where it starts, once people start caring for the general well-being of their brethren, this is where the world changes. Where the default response is empathy, not apathy. Where not so sick people don't have to go the emergency room to treat non emergency diseases, just because they don't have insurance. They can go to regular doctors now, clearing the way for actual emergencies. Insurance companies will have to lower their prices, because they actually have competition now. Its simple, and the GOP will probably never understand. Which is why unless they change, they will probably never control congress again. Its time to grow up and drop the ignorance because its a brave new world. Thats all for now. Sidenote, my idealist fervor has just been revived.

It must really suck to be Mike Poggi right now.

Lololololol, not really. Life is pretty good, its going slow. A few things could be nicer. I'm finally on break, and I have 13 days to recoop. Monday I drove back to Columbus at 8, then I took my anthro final, and I was really starting to spiral after that. I was so down, and just ridiculously tired. I felt like walking to the library to study was gonna kill me. I didn't want to do anything, ever again. Ok, now imagine I was drowning in a pool, a pool made of all my self-doubt. It sucked, but then, a phone call. It was Ed Stockhausen with the Ohio State Senate, to offer me an interview to become a paid page. It was like a stronger, more confident me, pulled me out of the pool and said, "Listen up pussy, man up, be confident, and keep working hard." It was great, I had never felt better, just having an interview gives me direction, something substantial to do. So now I'm home, and I'll have my interview in a few weeks. Well thats it for tonight, gotta get up early and be the taxi again. Night

P.S. New Four Year Strong is siiiiiiick.

Key

Hello there, it is 62 and sunny in beautiful Columbus Ohio, and let me tell you people, get outside on this wonderful day!

Its amazing how a little change in the weather translates to a big change in life. Spring is just starting to poke its head through, and already I feel like a different person. The city is alive in the sunlight. Speaking of the sun, its like my own personal source of energy and inspiration. The sunlight actually woke me up this morning, it was like a movie. I stretched, showered, and rode my bike to class at 7:30, and I have never felt better. Honestly, the only reason I'm at my computer right now is to type this and say how great it is to be alive on this day. God I feel good. I'm gonna ride my bike, get some lunch, and read at a bench. Being free of obligation in winter=Sadface. Being free of obligation in the spring=joyous. Alright, I'm gonna stop because I'm gushing.

Well, I've decided that my film class is the best class I've taken ever. Of all time. I feel right at home there. We watched American Beauty today, and its great that the message translates from a decade ago. Love life in all its beauty.

Boom, outta here.

Friday

I really don't have anything to do tonight, I'm gonna go swim a few laps, and then just chill in. I'm all alone in my dorm, and I'm indifferent. The Cavs are on. I just found out today that my expected tuition next year for OSU is $25,000. Yeah thats pretty much the final straw for this school. BW is $32,000, but I'll get scholarships. So much for a state school being cheaper. I was supposed to drink at Cory's tonight, but he never called me, and in all honesty, I don't really care. I'm in a malaise. KB, thanks for liking my letter it means a lot. I really hope you dig your haiku. I have nothing to do till Maureen comes to visit tomorrow, so I'm gonna use my night wisely. I owe it to Allen to write, if he's having writer's block, maybe if I keep writing it'll inspire him. Oh, and it looks like Obama is finally growing some balls, and is gonna push Healthcare through. Finally. My grandparents may say they don't like this, but when they start getting their prescriptions paid for, they'll change their minds. My grandpa always told me its hard being self employed, and finally the burden will be lessened. Well thats all I have right now. Bye all.

Matrix

I feel that being a film critic is now my ultimate dream job. I have so much fun talking about movies in my intro class. Today was two hours analyzing the philosophy elements of all movies, and we got deep into STAR WARS. There is just something attractive about film as an art form. Maybe I'll look into doing it in the future. Hmm.

Mike Poggi's Top Ten Most Played Songs:

So I found this nifty little tab on my iTunes library that organizes songs by play count. Some of these actually surprised me.

1. Handlebars-Flobots. 2154 Plays. I think its just because I can rap the entire song and it makes me feel cool

2. Say it ain't so-Weezer. 2136 Plays. Definitely my favorite Weezer song, so no surprise.

3. Man in the Mirror-Michael Jackson. 2034 Plays. Well it is my favorite MJ song, and I love me some MJ.

4. Radio-Alkaline Trio. 2014 Plays. Definitely the song that turned me onto this band. (Thanks Eric Miller)

5. Dat New New-Kid Cudi. 1967 Plays. I'm pretty sure when I first got this song, I played it 5 times in a row. Cudi is infectious.

6. Man Overboard-Blink 182. 1888 Plays. Definitely feel like I play other Blink way more...

7. Make You Feel Better-Red Hot Chili Peppers. 1820 Plays. Definitely a sleeper song, didn't get much press, but Stadium Arcadium is effing awesome.

8. Mother Superior-Coheed and Cambria. 1812 Plays. Sing it smooth Claudio, and make it look so easy.

9. Gravemakers and Gunslingers-Coheed and Cambria. 1803 Plays. Melt my face Claudio.

10. Dear Jack-Jack's Mannequin. 1786 Plays. I have a huge soft spot for Jack's Mannequin.

Love it. Boom outta here.

Filibuster.

End this stupid shit. I can't believe how stubborn some people are that they would sacrifice jobs for partisan beliefs. Senator JIM BUNNING of Kentucky needs to stop his filibuster. Stop being the "party of NO", GOP. This isn't democracy anymore, and right now, its your fault Republicans. I hate saying party names, because on the grander scale of politics, parties don't mean jack to me, its just the GOP seems to be pissing me the hell off. These fucking people will not let ANY legislation pass, because of the grudges they hold. Wake up call, you lost the elections for a reason, and let the majority party do whats its supposed to. You lost. The thinking majority is so sick of the bullshit, and quite frankly, its petty. The filibuster was created out of desperation to get bills removed or edited, its a terrible thing in and of itself. You shouldn't need 60 votes to do everything, and its a damn shame that every bill, and every action has become a partisan hurdle. Ask for compromise, get compromise. Don't block a bill because out of spite. Its the lowest of depths to sink to. The older I get, the more I cement myself into these beliefs. I can't wait for my generation to take the reigns.
